Steps to Our Enrollment

We’re committed to helping our students find success. If you’re ready to get started at La’ James International College, here are the next “Steps to Success” you’ll need to take!

Schedule Your Tour.We encourage all students to schedule a tour of the LJIC campus they would like to attend. This is your chance to learn more about our programs, financial aid, and about our culture. During your tour, you’ll get to sit down with one of our career planners and go over any questions you may have.
Complete Required Documents.Once you decide to become a student at LJIC, you will complete your Enrollment Application and provide the $50 application fee. After your enrollment is complete, you will be given a worksheet outlining your upcoming Steps to Success as an LJIC student, complete with the dates and times for orientation and the start of classes as well as information needed for Student Intranet access.
Create a Customized Financial Plan. All students will be scheduled to meet with a financial assistance staff member to put their financial plan in place.
Get Ready For Your First Day.Once all the required paperwork is finished, it’s time to get ready for your first day of beauty school! We’re excited to be able to help pursue your passion and achieve your goals.

Admission Requirements

To begin enrolling at La’ James International College, you have to meet the following requirements:

A valid High School Diploma, GED (General Education Diploma), HSED (High School Equivalency Diploma), High School Transcript (showing proof of completion- graduation date), verified Home School Completion or an English Translated Qualified Foreign High School Diploma. *For a Foreign High School Diploma, evidence of verification performed by an outside agency that is qualified to translate documents into English and confirmation of the academic equivalence to a U.S. high school diploma, click here.
A valid government photo identification such as a driver’s license, passport, or state identification card.
If you are applying for the Teacher Training program, a copy of your current Iowa licensure in the area of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences.
A completed Enrollment Application.
Payment of the $50 application fee. Students are not accepted on the basis of ability to benefit (ATB).

As a student, you’ll have the opportunity to apply LJIC hours as credits toward a two-year associate degree in Health and Beauty Management at Iowa Central Community College. Admission FAQs

Do You Offer Financial Aid?

Yes! Each of our five campuses is accredited, meaning we offer financial aid to those who qualify. For more information on what type of financial aid you qualify for, talk to one of our financial aid advisors. We’re always happy to help!

When Do Classes Start?

LJIC has classes starting every four weeks at each campus. However, not all programs start each month, and a minimum class size may be required for the program to start. Orientation is held the week prior to the class start date.

Do You Offer Job Placement?

While we can’t guarantee employment, our relationships with our industry partners and local salons and spas have helped us place our graduates in salons and spas across the United States.

How Much Is Your Tuition?

Tuition varies depending on which program you choose. For more information on our programs and their cost, give us a call and a member of our admissions team can help!

What Can I Expect On My Beauty School Tour?

On your tour, you can expect to have your questions answered, see our campus, and learn more about our programs. Our goal with our tours is to get to know you, learn your goals, and introduce ourselves!
