La’ James International College believes that one of the best ways our students can pay for their education is through scholarships. Scholarships are a form of financial aid that is awarded to students for their further education. We are dedicated to helping students find scholarships to assist with the costs associated with attending school. One year, LJIC students received $155,000 in scholarships, helping them pay their way through school. Check these tips on how you can find a scholarship!

Scholarship Searching Tips

The only way to receive a scholarship is by applying! Different scholarships will have their own qualifying requirements and may require an essay, or certain information. These tips can help you find scholarships to apply for:

Ask your counselor for reputable options. You shouldn’t have to pay to apply for scholarships
Apply for smaller scholarships, every penny helps
Be honest about your information and essays
Proactively look for scholarships, you can still apply for them while in school
Pay attention to scholarship due dates

Industry Scholarships

Believe it or not, there are plenty of scholarships that are specific to beauty school students. Below, we’ve listed out some of our favorite scholarships that you can apply for!

Beauty Changes Lives: Beauty Changes Lives is a non-profit driven to make the beauty profession a first-choice career.
AACS Grants & Scholarships: The American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) partners with industry sponsors to offer scholarships and grants to deserving cosmetology students.
Joe Francis Hair Care Scholarship: This is a scholarship for cosmetology students, their mission is to help students receive financial assistance for their professional training.
Sport Clips Scholarship: Sports Clips awards deserving cosmetology students with scholarships that can be up to $5000.
Great Clips Scholarships: Great Clips believes in the future of the hair industry and is proud to offer over $100,000 total in scholarships to students each year!
AMTA Student Scholarships: AMTA scholarships are for massage therapy students and they’ve been known to award scholarships up to $5000.
Milady RISE Scholarship: Be one of the TEN lucky recipients to get a $500 Milady RISE Scholarship, administered by the Professional Beauty Association.
Soroptimist Women’s Live Your Dream Awards: Soroptimist’s Live Your Dream Awards program is a unique education award for women who provide the primary financial support for their families.
Beauty & Wellness Professionals Scholarship: The BeautySchoolsDirectory.com team is proud to offer a $2,500 scholarship for students and professionals changing others’ lives through wellness and beauty.
MBLEx Guide Massage Therapy Scholarship: Available to any massage student currently enrolled in an approved entry-level massage therapy training school or program in the US, and who is working towards taking the FSMTB Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam to become a professional massage therapist. One winner will be elected and awarded the $1,000 scholarship.
Massage Schools Grant: Educators, Apply for a $10,000 grant for your massage school. Funded by Massage Envy.
Giva Annual Corporate Scholarship: $1,000 corporate scholarship to undergrad or graduate students
