About Our Des Moines Beauty School

Our Des Moines campus is in Johnston, a suburb of Des Moines, Iowa. It is the 3rd location and our largest campus that we’ve opened. The original location was on the corner of 63rd and Hickman before building a brand new campus in Johnston.

We are not like your typical beauty school. When we build a campus, we think about both our students’ and guests’ needs. At our Des Moines campus, you can find student clinics with modern individual stations and treatment rooms, a comfortable guest waiting room, and a beautiful retail center with multiple product lines available for purchase.

If you’re looking for a school that emulates a real salon and spa setting, then you’ve come to the right place. This is to help you feel prepared for your future in the industry. Once students reach a certain point in their education, they will be given the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned to guests who come to the salon/spa.

Cosmetology

Pursue your love for beauty with our traditional 5-day-a-week cosmetology program. For students who prefer a more traditional classroom environment, you can learn hair cutting, coloring, styling, facials, nails, and more!

La’ James International College reserves the right to adjust salon and spa business hours. Walk-ins are welcome but to ensure availability please schedule an appointment through Guest Services. If you are planning a large party or group, please schedule with Guest Services at least two weeks before the event.
