COS108 : Theory of Hair and Hair Care Services I
3 Credit Hour Course (2 Credit Lecture – 1 Credit Lab)

Theory of Hair and Hair Care Services I is an introduction to the exciting and creative Career of Cosmetology. This course is designed to build a strong foundation covering the hair, hair care, and services performed in the salon. Career preparation course work includes thorough comprehensive classroom study, weekly labs, virtual guest speakers and hands on campus visits at La’ James International College. Students are introduced to the basic skills needed to be successful in retailing and prescribing professional products to clients.

COS109 : Theory of Hair and Hair Care Services II
3 Credit Hour Course (2 Credit Lecture – 1 Credit Lab)

During Theory of Hair and Hair Care Services II, students will continue their journey into the career of cosmetology concentrating on the fundamentals of haircutting, hairstyling, color, and chemical texture services. Focus will be placed on understanding the differences between chemical and non-chemical services in the salon. The course will include a business acumen to successfully acquire and develop skills of best business practices in retailing, referrals, and rebooking.

Will there be hands on training?
Yes! There will be 3 on campus, hands on visits at La’ James International College. On campuses visits will fall on a Thursday.


Where do I get my textbook and kit items?
Textbook Package and needed Kit items for weekly labs will be made available through La’ James International College, along with surprise goody bags.


Is there a uniform requirement while attending hands on visit to LJIC?
Yes, there is a dress code to follow. You will be provided with a LJIC Active Wear Shirt to be worn with Black Pants and Shoes
