See wisdom in others – A Tip from Boomer Smith!
Meet Boomer Smith, Career Planner at La’ James International College in Cedar Falls. We tend to think we know all the answers & sometimes we forget that it’s simply OK if we don’t know, just ask for help! There are many people around us that we can learn something new from. Boomer shares a piece of advice that is not only great for students but for everyone…
“If there is one thing that I have learned in my quest to know everything, it is that I will never actually know everything. It has been important for me to understand and evaluate the areas in which I have the least experience, and then to seek out others that are experts and ask for their wisdom. Our students have a great opportunity at LJIC to not just learn from instructors, but to learn from experienced students. Us, as members of the LJIC faculty, have that same opportunity. I am blessed to know some incredibly experienced & gifted individuals that are willing to share their knowledge. NEVER be too proud to admit that you simply just do not know. Humble yourself and see the wisdom of others. Someday someone may seek wisdom from you.”
Thank you Boomer for the great tip & for participating in today’s #LjicTeacherTip!
