October: A Month of Career Fairs for La’ James International College

At La’ James International College (LJIC), October is one of our favorite times of the year!  It’s career fair season, and this month we’ve been traveling across the entire state of Iowa to meet amazing students and future beauty professionals who are interested in cosmetology, esthetics, massage therapy and nail technology.  

From Cedar Falls to Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Des Moines, and now Fort Dodge, our team has been busy meeting and connecting with individuals who are curious about what it’s like to start a rewarding career in the beauty and wellness industry.

Career fairs give us so much more than a chance to simply talk about our programs; they help us connect, learn, and grow alongside our community.  We actually believe that our dedication to attending career fairs and meeting the people who make up our community is tremendously important.  In fact, we think it is one of the core activities that has allowed us to become a leading cosmetology school in the state of Iowa.  Here is why career fairs are so special to us:

Every fair brings together students with unique stories and dreams. Whether they are just starting to explore their options or they are ready to take the next step, these conversations remind us why we do what we do: helping others find a fulfilling path through beauty and wellness education.

2. We engage and inspire

Career fairs allow our team to share firsthand what makes LJIC special: the supportive environment, hands-on training, and opportunities to build both technical and business skills. We love answering questions, showing our curriculum in action, and helping people see that a career in beauty is not just creative, it’s empowering.

One of the most valuable parts of attending these events is hearing directly from prospective students. Their feedback helps us understand what they’re looking for in their education: what excites them, what they hope to achieve, and how we can continue improving the LJIC experience.
