DIY : RELIEVE NECK TENSION
Stiff neck? Try this simple stretch to help loosen up neck tension. You may even notice temporary relief from headaches…. that’s always a plus! 🙂 Today’s Tues-Torial was created by Katie Sleeth (Massage Therapy student at La’ James International College in Des Moines.)
Step 1: Start by sitting tall, feet flat on the floor and facing forward.
Step 2: Look to your left, stretching the neck as far as you can and finding a spot to focus on. Return back to the facing forward starting position.
Step 3: Next place your right hand behind your head and grasp the neck firmly. Turn your head back to the left once again & find your focal point. Return to your forward position after a few seconds.
Step 4: Now stretch as far as you can on your right and find a focal point. Then return back to your starting position.
Step 5: Same as step 3. Place your left arm behind your head and grasp the neck firmly. Look to your right and find your focal point.
Step 6: Place your chin to your chest and begin stretching your neck by rotating clockwise.
Step 7: Once you have made a full circle, switch directions rotating counterclockwise.
Step 8: Once again, look to your left & then to your right. You should notice that you are now able to stretch further & find yourself looking beyond your original focal point.
Thank you Katie for this excellent tip & for participating in today’s LJIC Tues-Torial!!
