Don’t Hesitate, Be in Demand

What does Field and Stream and Massage Therapy have in common? It is La’ James International College student Megan Gillaspie from the Davenport campus.

“I am from North Carolina originally; I love photography and being outdoors hanging out with friends and family.  I also love concerts and fishing!” Yes, before finding LJIC Megan worked for Field and Stream and was a CNA.

After graduating high school, a year and a half early and becoming a CNA, it opened her eyes to helping others and the doors to the health and wellness field. Megan soon discovered LJIC, “I chose LJIC because of the smaller class setting and I LOVED the way the school is setup.  The spa is amazing I haven’t seen anything like the way it is set up. I also appreciate how helpful and attentive the instructors and staff had been for me.”  

Megan plans to work as a LMT with hospice as well as in a spa setting like the Tuscany Day Spa at LJIC to build a client base and “eventually open my own luxury spa and have my own business.”  

Megan’s Journey through LJIC has been smooth sailing so far; her advice for others looking to pursue a Massage Therapy career, “Don’t hesitate! Just do it!  If you are able and you have the motivation then get ready for a very rewarding and in demand career!”
