The Future is Exciting!

Born and raised in Fremont, Emily Geaghan knew she wanted to go into the Cosmetology Industry for her career! “I really liked doing make-up and up-dos so I chose La’ James International College to take the first steps to further my career in the industry! They had always done amazing work for prom and homecoming as well!” Emily graduated high school early and has been enrolled in LJIC Fremont’s Cosmetology program since last December.

Emily’s journey at La’ James International College has been full of excitement and learning opportunities “There have been ups and downs, but Cosmetology is so fun and interesting!” Emily LOVES to do haircuts and colors but her true passion is make-up. Her most memorable moment was when she won a “Face-Off” competition at school. “We had to draw a theme from a cup and I got ‘Alien.’ I had to recreate that theme with a model’s hair, makeup, and nails.” Winning that competition helped further Emily’s desire for a career in the Cosmetology industry. “I also like to see when classmates graduate. Seeing all the support and excitement from their friends and families really inspires me to graduate!” LJIC has help Emily gain confidence in her work and she is excited for her future!

Emily is only a few short months away from graduating LJIC in December but she is already planning her career! “I’m going to photography school after I graduate so I can start my own business!” Emily would like to begin a career photographing her hair and make-up creations for weddings and other events. Advice that Emily would give to current or prospective students would be, “COME TO SCHOOL! Take notes, listen to your instructors and ask as many questions as possible!”
