Brielle Brown had known she wanted to attend Cosmetology school from a young age, “I had always hated playing with dolls, but I LOVED doing their hair! I would cut their hair and even color high-lights on their hair with markers!” Now, as a Cosmetology student at La’ James International College in Iowa City, Brielle is making her DREAM come TRUE! Brielle began touring Cosmetology schools as a junior in High School, “my Aunt had mentioned LJIC in Iowa City and I thought it was a GREAT location and place to be! I did another tour when I was a senior to meet the instructors and get a feel of the atmosphere and that is when I knew LJIC was where I could make my DREAM a reality!”

As a student at LJIC, Brielle is an active member in LJIC’s Ambassador Program! “My favorite thing about the program is the chance to meet new and prospective students, giving tours and showing off our BEAUTIFUL campus, and being a mentor to new students when they start! I feel privileged that new students can come to me if they have a question or ask for help!” She is also an active member in the events and activities LJIC is involved with. “I’ve participated in Senior Night, Oktoberfest, and Trend Vision-which we’re the reigning Spirit Award Champs- and many more!!” Brielle has had her challenging moments in school as well, “I was worried about being overwhelmed at first; but after I started I realized the class-sizes are perfect and I have the greatest instructors I could have asked for!”

Brielle will graduate in October but not till she attends LJIC’s Trend Vision one last time! “I am SO looking forward to Trend Vision this year!! Seeing all the other students throughout the company show their spirit and pride for their dreams is really inspiring!” After graduation, Brielle plans to move back to her hometown and work at a full service salon. Though she’s got her eyes set on something even bigger in the future! “I’ve always wanted to own and run a salon from my house! I think LJIC has given me the tools to use in order to fulfill this dream and I am so GLAD I chose LJIC!”
