DIY : 5-STRAND FRENCH BRAID
Are you a master at the traditional 3 strand braid? Well, why not challenge yourself and try out this 5 strand braid created by Keerstyn Iseman (Student at our in cosmetology school in Davenport, Iowa). It seems difficult at first and it will take some practice, but once you have the your routine down you will find yourself using this new technique quite often.
Step 1: Section the hair into 3 equal parts and begin a tradition 3 strand french braid.

Step 2: Picking up a new section, place the hair under your first strand and over the middle (2nd) strand. This is now your 4th strand.

Step 3: Repeat the same step on the other side. Pick up a new section and place it under the outer strand, over the 2nd strand and let it fall in the middle. This is now your 5th strand.

Step 4: Go back to the other side and pick up a new section to combine with your outer/1st strand. Now twist the outer strand under the second strand and over the middle strand. Now let it fall, this is your new middle strand.

Step 5: Repeat the step on the other side. Pick up a new section to combine with your outer/1st strand. Now twist the outer strand under the second strand and over the middle strand. Then let it fall, this is your new middle strand.

Step 6: Continue with this process once again on the other side working down the head. Sounds easy, huh?! 🙂 Pick up a new section to combine with your outer/1st strand. Twist the outer strand under the second strand and over the middle strand. Then let it fall.

Step 7: Once again continue with this process. Move to the other side and pick up a new section to combine with your outer/1st strand. Twist the outer strand under the second strand and over the middle strand. Once you get to the end, secure with an elastic band.

Great job Keerstyn & thank you for participating in today’s LJIC TuesTorial!!
