DIY : SIMPLE NECK & BACK STRETCH

Are you constantly in a seated position and finding your back and neck muscles to be stiff & tired? Performing this simple stretch will enable you to increase circulation and bring relief to those tired muscles. Today’s tutorial comes from Anthony Headley (Massage Thearpy student at La’ James International College – Des Moines)

Step 1: Begin by sitting tall and straight up in a chair. Let your arms fall to the side and keep your feet flat on the floor.

Step 2: Bring your right arm across the body and place your hand in-between your neck and shoulder.

Step 3: Use your left hand to grip your right elbow.

Step 4: Turn your head to the right (opposite of the hand gripping your neck). Apply an upward pressure on your elbow. You will feel this stretch in neck, shoulder & upper back area. Repeat the stretch on the other side.

Thanks Anthony for sharing these great tips & participating in this week’s LJIC Tues-torial!
